Marlen Kuszmaul, Owner and Chef of Rose Cottage & Gardens, has been working in the culinary field for 23 years. Her focus at the restaurant will be to prepare the meals from scratch and as healthy as possible by reducing fats and sugars without sacrificing taste. Marlen’s interest in baking came from her mother who was an outstanding baker as well as Austrian cook.

When Marlen moved to South Carolina her interest in gourmet cooking was sparked from her cooking experiences in the gourmet group that sprung out of the Spartanburg Newcomers Club.

Marlen is also a Master Gardener and is working on saving the hundreds of Camellias and other beautiful flora from the also beautiful but deadly Wisteria. “The gardens are beautiful and would make lovely backgrounds for wedding and prom pictures. Rose Cottage & Gardens has a wildly beautiful but peaceful sanctuary about it and I would like to preserve it.”
